There was a glowing discussion of it in the NY Times.

The early release D90 reviewer (Chase Jarvis) is also a 135i owner. http://www.chasejarvisandfriends.com/ I'm getting a D90, for sure. Probably as an early Xmas gift to myself. |

I picked up a D40 for just under $500 recently and what a bargain buy, I'm not skilled enough nor do my photos go anywhere outside of a few web albums & emails. However, based on the quality of the D40 and viewing that website.. the D90 looks AWESOME!

Currently, I have a D70, that I got when they first came out in 2004. It has 15000 exposures on it now, and been on many trips. It's definitely time for an upgrade for my camera. Luckily, I've upgraded my lens collection over that time, so I may just purchase the D90 body. |

I still think I'm going to upgrade to a D300. I really can't decide if I want to go to the full frame D700 or not. Getting that 1.5x multiplier out of the D300 is nice... however, I would love to use my 11-17mm on the D700. That would be so awesome!

I've really considered upgrading to this camera, but I don't know if I can justify the cost over my Rebel XTi. I've already got two Canon lenses so they would have to go to.
I do like the 720p recording but I've also already got an HD camera that records in 720p/1080.

Used a Nikon D30 for awhile. It was my godfathers. I think I might splurge on this Nikon and pick it up. So it looks like with Tax, shipping, and a new bag around $1500 out the door!

I love P&S! But nothing compares to the quality of DSLR! To put video through that glass is ... well ... is... total sick!
I can't wait till Canon does it too. I would absolutly love to have high end glass videos!!! This is one big reason I have held off buying into DSLR... technology moves sooo fast, if you buy stuff now... in 1-2 years it's totally obsolete! The secret to anything you buy that is based on technology is USE IT TO DEATH!!! Then you have got your value out of it! If you don't use it, it's just a matter of time when you will see it out at the curb! I am totally amazed how many people put their old PC's at the curb now. I have picked up 2 so far with hd's in them loaded with data. Lucky for them I wipe them, and give them to kids who need a computer. Still I take my hat off to Nikon! Canon catch up!!! I also want GPS in my DSLR. What I really want though is a DSLR computer! I want it to be able to totally upgrade via software! I want to have some ports that I can add more hardware. Basically a very small computer with the ability of adding glass! I know I am dreaming! EspressoBoy |
