limp mode = stupid dealer?

Dropped off my 335 at dealer with check engine light on. They call me and say no problem found. I ask isn't that what the diagnostic is for to show a code.
They inform me that the computer will not show that that problem. Are they giving me b.s?. The light was on all day.

The lack of any real caring by BMW dealerships is getting worse and worse and worse. I went in just to see if they could see a code that was several days old. They guy took my key, put it into a reader and came back and said no codes were stored. Are you serious? Id had two half engine lights earlier that week.

Im pretty sure limp modes do not store codes the majority of the time. They usually go away upon restart. Ive had a few and didnt have any codes stored on my ecu when it was read by a GT1.

Thank you my 335 has

had the original Dinan stage II for 11 months and has been fantastic. The last 3 days the limp mode came on 5 times. I took it to the dealer & they say they cannot duplicate the problem. No codes. What next?

That same senario happened with me. I let them keep the car overnight, to test the start up in the morning. I know its a PITA but they were able to get the car to replicate the issue and take care of it.

Hi RambleJ what

was the cause on your car? Mine was also kept overnight but still no luck. I have had the engine crank several times before starting. A fuel pump pressure test showed it to be ok.

My issue was a HPFP failure. This was the second time my car was in for that reason..

im also getting the 1/2 engine light coming on

what am i supposed to do if the car does not store the code, and its only when i floor the car in a certain gear?

taking it to the dealer does not sound like it will work, because the code does not get stored

will a gt1 or bavarian read this 1/2 engine light code, even if the car has been restarted and there is no limp light on anymore

its very fustrating to not know why the 1/2 engine light keeps coming on

exactly

the dealer has jerked around with my car for 3 straight days and cannot find the problem. So after test driving it endlessly will now hand it back & say........ problem was not duplicated.

If I were you, I would buy a fuel pump and get it installed. Trust me, you want to keep your car with its current programming and flash classic.

No, avoid that reflash at all costs. You are sitting pretty assuming the problem is limited to the fuel pump.

Went to reclaim my car today and as I suspected nothing was done to it except for the fact that these mother fers put 100 miles on MY car "testing" it. My blood is still boiling at the thought f these pricks putting miles on my pristine car and the having the gall to say that they think the hpfp is ok.
