Should I intall my CF Door Pillars or Not? - Picture

Just received my carbon fiber door pillars from FedEx today and I was wondering what you guys think. I rested the pillars up againest the B pillar just to snap this picture --- they are not installed yet. I think I like them. What do you guys think? A huge advantage (at least to me) is the fact the B pillar fingerprints would become nearly nonexistant because the CF panels hardly pick up any fingerprints, whereas with the OEM black you can see a fingerprint if you just rest your finger on the damn thing for a second.

Standard

Carbon Fiber

Naw bro. Sell them. People should install CF mods with discretion. Some CF mods make vehicles look tacky.

In the end, if you like them, rock them. I think it looks tacky IMHO.

Well, I'd return them to Bimmian because that's where I got them. It's just I really think this looks pretty good. I think what it is is that both look about the same to me as far as style goes but I want to go with the CF panels because there will be no more god damn fingerprints that take a freakin' jackhammer to get off.

Well that smaller back trim piece would also be carbon fiber.

dude, if you like them, keep em....they're great looking pieces but imho looks out of place if you have them without other exterior mods.

Well if you like it, that's all that matters. Personally, it doesn't look that great at all.

So you purchased tacky CF panels because of fingerprints? It would have been easier to invest in a towel, and some protectant.

Dude, I own over $800 in cleaning supplies. A MF towel and some 303AP takes care of it but it's a pain in the ass to do that everyday.

Like what?

BTW, the more I look at the picture the more the picture doesn't do the actual panels justice. It's just a cleaner, sharper look when you see it in person.

You're trying to justify your purchase to us. No need! If you like your CF panels, keep them.

What I'm saying is that if you can't take a few extra minutes to wipe off a few fingerprints (..or avoid using that portion of the door to close it, hence, no fingerprints - or reduced fingerprints), that is being lazy.

Screw all of you! I like it and I'm going to install it.

If down the road I change my mind, fine, I'll take it off -- no big deal. It'd be a waste of the $80 since I doubt I could return it then but it surely won't be the last $80 I blow this lifetime.

Wait, I just got an idea.

Here's the question of the day: How do I turn my B pillars from matte black to gloss black? Maybe buy a adhesive panel like the CF pillars but painted gloss black? Think that would look good? I could probably take the pieces to a paint shop and get them done a gloss black and then adhere some 3M adhesive tape to the back of it, but what material should I cut them out of? Plastic or something?

I got the idea from this picture (doesn't it look like the pillars are a glossy black?):

Dude, no stickers or adhesive panels......just use a towel and protectant. And the pillars in that picture look normal. You suffer from OCD don't you?

OCD=Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...

Wouldn't a gloss black compound your fingerprints issue further?

Possibily, but at least it'd look good. Right now the pillars look neither good nor bad.
