paypal using a cc. if you don't get the goods, call your card company and dispute the charges. although i believe you'll find that most people on these forums are good for it! i have several times.

make a paypal account, its the best, easiest, safest way to send payment...
you send payment (its a plus if they are a Confirmed member) and then they send the goods. I always put a description of what i bought int he payment window to be clear. If the item does not arrive then you can file a claim and if the buyer is unable to prove that he/she sent the item an you received it then you will get your money back. I would not send a check or money order to someone, especially if it is a good amount. hope this helps |

don't buy from someone with a post count of 1. you can easily research the seller to see if he/she is a reputable person on the forums. most are pretty honest people.

I have bought and sold on a different forum dealing with different people. Never been ripped off, never ripped someone else off. From my dealings and experiences:
1. PayPal (I understand why some don't want to use this, as PayPal takes a cut) 2. Deliver/Pick-Up: This is convenient if possible. However, wary of a dishonest person who might remember where you live and come back. Ex. If you have other stuff to sell, and he sees the layout of your garage, storage area, and later comes back to take it. Usually, when I do these I arrange to meet somewhere public; a parking lot of a fast food area or grocery store. Sometimes, because of the size of the item being sold/traded this may not be possible. Just use your common sense. 3. Sending Checks. More times than not, this is safe. Check the seller's rating if available. If it's a large amount you don't feel safe sending, obviously don't take that chance. 4. Use your common sense. Above all else, use your common sense. I'm sure you'll get a feel for the guy's honesty through lines of communication. Exchange ways of communication such as phone numbers rather than strictly email. 4.2. Communication. A very important part of any deal is communication. You were supposed to receive your spoiler in 5 days, but you didn't get it! OMG! Don't freak out. Call the seller and find out what's going on. He didn't answer...remember, your seller has a life outside of your deal with him as well. He'll get back to you...He didn't get back to you. OK, your seller has bad communication skills, but don't freak out. Try him again later. In the end, don't spend more than you're willing to lose. Use your common sense. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Use your best judgment, and may the Force be with you.

Definitely what Mega Man stated as well as the rest. Too often we see members post their complaints about another member before giving the person a chance. Once you have exhausted all means then come on the forum and state your case. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. In the end you are taking all the risks so be careful.
