Favourite Quote(s) and Why?
Someone just sent me some quotes in an email and I have a new favourite, who else has a favourite quote and why??
Mine - "Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination": Oscar Wilde Why - I have a great imagination (if I may say so myself ) certainly an ideas person, too much of an ideas person really and couldn't live within my means if I won the euro lotto! So, erm, it shall I say reflects my personality!

"You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Well, who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well, I'm the only one here. Who the f*** do you think you're talkin' to?"
Because I am insecure.

"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad." Brian O'Driscoll (Irish Rugby Captain, 2009)
Why? Cos he was dared to get the phrase into the press conference before the 6 Nations mach v England by his team mates

Some really good ones
Helen - one of my friends is from Sheffield and I think she is very broad Yorkshire, "goin' t'cafe t'get a cuppa coffee"! I've read James Herriot and seen Heartbeat North Yorkshire, they just seem to sound Newcastle to me but I'm seriously rubbish with accents, I don't understand Southerners, Northerners sometimes I can't even understand others from Derbyshire (some of them sound like Yorkshire accent I think!)

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new (Albert Einstein 1879-1955)
"Remember gentlemen, it's not just France we are fighting for, it's Champagne!" (Winston Churchill, WWI) Do, or do not. There's no 'try'. When a thought crosses your mind, does it like what it sees? Forgive your enemies, but do not forget their names

The scratches in Yoko Ono records are moments of relief.
S.A. Sachs The notes I handle no better than many pianists. But the pauses between the notes - ah, that is where the art resides! Artur Schnabel Without music life would be a mistake. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot. Groucho Marx The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. Terry Pratchett
