No smog inspection with DCI
So I go to get my smog inspection here in CA (Orange County...recently moved from NJ) this morning and after the guy checks the car for a few minutes he comes up back to me and says where's the airbox? I said in my garage...he says he can't pass the car without the stock airbox. So now I have to swap out the DCIs for the box. Just a heads up for anyone here in CA who has to get smogged anytime soon.

Yeah, the only parts you can have installed when your car goes in for smog/inspection are those that have a CARB EO # (CARB-legal parts). Intakes are easy to swap out though--no big deal. Downpipes could present a problem, but I think a non-polished catted downpipe could pass for stock with most smog techs and should still pass the sniffer.

Yea, didn't even think about the airbox. I have the UR catted downpipes and I picked up a set of secondary cats from Mr. 5 in preparation for the inspection. I should be good as far as the sniff test I just have to dig up the box and swap it out.
