Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
On that first one I would have raised the horizon above the center to get the complete reflection of the main trees. On both of the first two I'd work the sky to try to get more saturation and blue. Both would have been great candidates to see what happens with HDR techniques. Still, they're very nice as is. The others all show nice composition and I really like the first black and white. What program do you use for you B&W conversion? Dave

thanks! For the first, I would have loved to expand it a bit, but I was on a bridge , if I went too wide on the shot, I'd pick up a lot of unwanted artifacts to my sides unfortunately. As far as the modifications to these photos, none were made except basic raw adjustments and curves via lightroom. The B&W conversion was also just a basic lightroom grayscale conversion and curves toy around. I try to get the tint and white balance as red as possible, makes for a similar effect to an infrared shot.
Ive got a few more, just have to finish processing them Wanted to give HDR a try, will have to give it a go, I need to save that file with various exposures and smash it together

I'm wondering about cropping the second one with the rock. There's a duck distracting in the back of the pond and the sky doesn't really add much. I think focus on that rock and the details around it may be more dramatic. That's a nice image as is. I would have been tempted to throw a small pebble out in the water past the focal rock and gotten a picture with the concentric circles. Just a small ripple might be interesting. Of course, you never know until you try, right? Dave

nice job... going close to dusk looks a lot cooler than with full mid day sunlight. |
