expert know-how on how to ship super large packages..?

I thought car forum would be a nice place to ask.. since we deal with big ass packages usually. especially for those tuners.

Well, I have a HUGE packages(notice, plural) to ship.
The biggest one measures approximately 60x40x15. About 40 lbs.

Its a home office desk set im trying to ship out..
(I received the packages via indepedent trailer shipping company)

Its so big and heavy, its nearly impossible to ship these packages out via USPS/FedEx/UPS.
Please help...

Bring it to UPS, they have a pack and ship promise. I brought something I had to ship that was 36 lbs and so big the UPS guy had to come out to my car and bring it in himself. You'd be surprised how big of boxes they have in their backroom. $156.00 later it was shipped.

I don't know about that one. Most of the times FedEx and UPS have lower rates and they're already insuring the packages. Usually when you add insurance to a package with USPS it ends up being more expensive than FedEx and UPS.

Take it to usps. They will give you the cheapest price. It will take the longest to get there, but when i sell things, price is my #1 priority.

I once took an odd shaped heavy package, About 4ft x 2ft and 40lbs, to UPS and they quoted me $125 to ship it to Cali from PA. I went down the road to the post office and shipped it there for $27 with shiping insurance...

Not sure if you guys know this but FedEx does the shipping for USPS under contract.
So whenever you ship a package thru USPS, USPS prices it, accepts it and it gets shipped to a FedEx hub where they take over and gets it to the other hub where USPS down there will take care of the rest.
