problem with navi...

i have a 08 e92 with the idrive..and the nav is not reading the dvd~!

the screen says please enter nav dvd when its already in...i ejected it and reinserted and no response...everything else on the idrive seems to be working normally..

can anyone chime in?? i was wondering if this was a common problem and if there's a way to reset the navi/idrive??

any help would be great...thanks

Have you tried leaving the car alone for a couple of hours? There were two occasions where my CD changer magazine refused to eject, I locked the doors and went back later that day and it worked fine again. I say this as it takes time for the car to put itself into a deep sleep mode and that's when things usually shut down and/or reset.

Also I'm not sure if this still works, but you could try resetting it yourself by pressing the volume knob together with both eject buttons.

I'm assuming this is an original BMW Nav DVD and not a burned one? You can also try resetting the Nav by unplugging the battery but you'll lose any stored addresses. Since your car is still under warranty I'd bring it in and have the dealership check it out. You may need a new CCC. My '06 E90 had it's CCC replaced after 2.5 years.
