HELP: Procede intallation issue - lost hood support nut
I was removing Procede from my car and apparently the user guide has an important ommission - the two 8-mm screws that hold the hood support are not just screwed in, like all others, but are help by nuts on the other side. After I removed the screws, the nuts at some point fell off and are gone. Can someone point me to how they looked like (correct name and specs would be perfect) and where they can be bought??? I beleive these were not regular nuts because of the strange shaped pattern they left on the paint on the other side.
BTW, when I installed procede the nuts did not fall off. |

There is nothing you should be removing to get to the ECU that has nuts on the back side - sounds like you are taking the wrong screws out - take a pic of what your talking about and post it so we can tell what you have removed.

He is probably talking about the two 8mm screws on each side of the plastic tray that are held in place by a tension speed nut. I lost one as well as it fell into the engine bay when removing the plastic tray to get to the ecu.

That's what I thought. The big piece of plastic or metal that is under the cabin air filter and is held by two 8mm screws is actually attached using some form of nuts. That's the part that is removed is Vishnu manual with the commentary "now remove two 8-mm bolts and take out the hood support". When I did this first three times, nothing fell off, so I had no idea there are nuts involved... Now one of the bolts just go into holes with nothing to screw to.

you need a "body nut", part number 07129904232 or look for it in your engine compartment or on the ground under the area where your car was parked because you knocked it off where it clips on. same thing happened to me |

The new ones the dealership sent me were a different size, same part number. When i went to put them in the screws would not fit so i had to go to Home Depot and buy different size screws that would fit the new body but. Problem solved.

It is called hood support in the Vishnu manual - I just used the same terms so that people would know what I'm talking about.
