Installed JB3 and the car kept having limp mode

Hi all
I have an 09 335i DCT and it has 2500 KM on it , nothing beside the JB3 1.3 8A , just installed it today , i got out put the car on map 6 did a couple runs and everything was okay then switched to map 3 did one run and got the limp mode , i stoped the car for 5 hours then took it for a ride , got on map 6 did one run and had the limp , cooled it for half an hour and did another run , also had the limp mode

why do you guys think this is happening , is it because i have no supporting modes ?

kuwait weather + jb3 beta - supporting mods = limp?...yea that sounds about correct...sorry dude...my advice is get at least a DCI then a new intercooler and downpipes...

i'm getting my AR DP installed tomorow , and waiting for my injen to arrive
should i use 1.22 instead of 1.3 8A ?

you should have no problem with 1.22...try it out. 1.3 is beta for a reason

try to get higher octane gas if possible and stick to maps 3 and 4 for now.

When you get your DP's installed, take it easy for the first day or two because the computer really takes its time to adapt to the increased flow

dude the 1.3 is still in beta ,chill out and run default for a while until you get "at least" a intake .You need something to support that type of boost an intake dp's something to help out the boost i know some people ran map 6 without any supporting mods but that was with a 1.2

I always thought you couldnt run map 6 unless you are running higher octane...

no you can ,i havent personally but one of my buddys has just an intake and jb3 1.2 and he runs map 6 all the time

car only equip with JB3 on 8A7 as well. I just ran it on map 5. Terry and other have said don't run any higher since I don't have other mods. Also that is on octane 93

I've ran map6 on 1.22 completely stock (no DCI, no nothing) on 93 octane without any problems. Map6 on 1.3 and now DCI haven't had issues either so far (other than those related to the extension cable).

where exactly does Terry mention that Map6 on 1.3 is much more demanding than 1.22 map6?

Hmm, 1st step why don't you try map 3 and see if you still get a limp mode? Your setup, map preference and location is an express lane to trouble.

I installed my DP's today , and set the car on map 1 , did like four runs and everything was great till before 10 minutes , i had the limp again , the runs were not done one after another , the car took it time to cool after each run .
i'm running 95 octane so i don't think that's the problem , and the temp was 24C when i had the limp , i think i'll go ahead and try 1.22

get a BT scanner, it might be plugs, coils, something else.

I switched to 1.22 and everything is great

, but 1.3 feels faster .
I also tried with a stock c6 vette from a dig using launch controle at 5000 RPM , the first run was great i killed him by 2 car lenthes , but at the second run i didn't get a good grip and the car started shifting by itself at 6200 RPM , he was in front of me by 2 car lenthes , what could have caused that ???
2 guys from the US troops were watching and one of them was giving us the start signal , was a cool night .

the 1.3 chip could be bad. I had one too that was a bad chip.
