DB9 is in da house!!

CNET got an Aston Martin DB9 Volante in for review. This is the coolest car (after Rolls Royce Phantom) to ever come to CNET. here are some quick-n-dirty pics of the car as well as some engine sound videos.

one shocking thing about the car is that it has rear seats. as you can see from the pictures, there isn't even an inch of leg space. why they bothered putting the seats in there is beyond me.

i actually tried to sit in the back with the front seat pushed all the way to the front. i was able to fit in with my legs twisted sideways and my head tilted down 90 degrees (when the top is up). i'm 5'9".

CNET Review

enjoy!

The DB9 Volante sucks miserably. Our Aston/Jag dealer lent us one for a day and you could easily start listing all the faults (for a car that costs as much as it does). Poor handling, poor ride quality, wheezy A/C, poor noise insulation, numb, overly-heavy steering, not that fast, etc. Oh, and the AMV8 looks better.

So what you are saying is it fits an old Brit preference perfectly

It's for easy storage, kinda like the 911 with rear seats. When you buy small things and too lazy/don't want to put it in the trunk.

i think for once you might be wrong not with its faults but your looking at it as a track car while astons were never meant to be hardcore track cars there more of a GT cruiser I don't know I drove a DBS and it was ok but I drove the car more of fast cruiser not a F430...

Ha. I used to work for CNET in a previous life, and used to park in almost exactly that same spot.

The wood trim is tacky.

I'd rather drive a DB9 coupe or a V8 vantage droptop

Don't know why but the revcounter moving from right to left instead of the same way as the kph/mph gauge does is freaking me out lol

Horrible for me to say, but it seems like the DB9 styling is starting to look dated. It doesn't have that "wow" factor for me anymore.

I'd much prefer an AMV8 or the DBS.

i must agree, this is definitely not the prettiest astons out there. the wood trim inside is really nice but that's about it. the engine sound isn't very sexy either. it's one of those farting engines as opposed to roaring ones.

overall, i was not impressed.
