Schomp willing to deal?
I'm looking at either a new or CPO 335. I've been to Schomp a couple times now and like dealing with the people there. Murray gives me a really sleazeball vibe and Gebhardt doesn't have much inventory.
But will Schomp actually back away from their "no haggle" pricing? I'd like to get a new car for ~$500-1000 over dealer wholesale, or a used car for $1000-2000 less than their "best price." I'd think that right now anybody would be willing to cut deals to sell a car, but Schomp actually seems to be doing a booming business. |

If you go to Murray again, try to get set up with Ben Uher. He was my CA, and is a very cool guy.

I bought my car from Schomp last year and they were really unwilling to deal until I threatend to cancel my order unless they gave me the military special (invoice + 300). Needless to say, I got my deal. Other then that, I would say that Schomp has been great! There service and selection are great! Plus, they have all kinds of comps for customers like sodas, food, gift certificates and ect.....They might be more willing to deal now and days but like I said, before they wouldnt.

The car is definitely heavier. I think with a half tank of gas and me in the car (6'2" 190lbs) it was at almost exactly 3900 pounds last summer when I weighed it at Bandimere. Overall i think the only other car that would interest me right now is the M3 coupe, but I don't want to spend that kind of money on something that sits at DIA more than I drive. So to be honest this car is probably a keeper for the foreseeable future. mc |

Schomp wont deal, try, but good luck.
But took my same deal to Murray and they could only beat it by $500 if that. Wasnt worth it as Schomp is super close to me and great new service dept etc....

$1,500 off MSRP is what they will do for 3 series.

Schomp would not budge on pricing unfortunately -- the new location is only 3 miles from my house. My experience at Murray was similar to yours. I ended up ordering my car through Gebhardt. I contacted the internet sales guy (Kory Rodemich) and he immediately agreed to a price of $1,200 over invoice for European Delivery. No BS and the service has been good, although driving to Boulder is a pain. If you don't mind the wait, ordering the car has a number of advantages.
I actually used Schomp for a recent service appointment and they were great. They even gave me a loaner car. I really wish they would have played ball on the pricing. Good luck with your search.

I say get the car from who ever will give you the best deal. No matter where you get the car you can always take it Schomp for service. I take my car to who ever is closest when a light comes on. I do prefer Schomp though. They always hook me up with a loaner car. Although, they wont budge on lending me an M for a loaner Hey its worth a try.

I bought mine from Paul Owens at Schomp. It was a great experience - to the point that as long as I'm driving a BMW, I will be buying them from Schomp and more specifically, Paul Owens. The level of customer service that I was provided with was second to none that I've ever experienced. To me, sometimes spending a little more to get the better service is worth every penny. I've had my car for nearly a year now and I still talk to Paul monthly.

I bought mine from Schomp too and it was an awful experience. I had a better time buying a 19k ford ranger. I think that my bad experience was due to an arrogant CA. What ever you do don’t use Len Birnbaum. Hey doubted me through out the whole process and acted as if I couldn’t possibly afford a BMW.

I got mine from Shaun Ellis at Schomp and they were absolutely great, but were unwilling to do anything more than the Military discount. They wouldn't even mess with my trade allowance. He said they are actually having a stellar year thus far. Good luck. I would highly recommend dealing with Shaun by the way.

A really good buddy of mine is a sales manager out at Schomp, and he insists that it is true that they won't budge on the price. But, what they can/will do if you're persistent enough is bump up the value on your trade, and/or add some dealer installed options. Hell, when I traded my 330i for the 335i he got me more for my trade than private party resale was showing in the blue book.
But then again, I may just be lucky enough to have buddies in the right places...

I got my 335i xdrive from Schomp as well. They gave me $1600 off MSRP plus the free xDrive option (worth $1875) special incentive from BMW. They offered me $23K for my 03 M5 (same as the Audi dealer) but when I said I want $24K, they agreed. They will get all 5s in the survey; I was happy.

Thanks! No disappointments here either, just getting used to driving the 3 after owning and E39 M5 for a few years. I have the 6 speed manual, has anyone removed the CDV yet? I think that would be my next obvious mod.

Hey all - looking to do a European delivery in a few months on a 335 or M3, and was wondering if anybody has used a Denver dealer for this? I saw mention of the guy at Gebhardt above, but does anybody else have a recomendation? I know all of the online forum sponsors will pretty much do about $500 over ED invoice, and I'm more than happy to take a short driving trip to get such a deal. However, if I could get a competent CA locally for about $1000 over ED invoice I would prefer to stay local.
Also, I've been to Murray many times with friends, and they've always been helpful, but deals are not so great. It seems like neither Murray or Schomp will deal with you much. There just isnt' enough competition in Denver to get the dealers dealing. It often seems like Murray and Schomp are colluding to keep their prices higher. Have never tried Gebhardt or Co's. Co's is actually willing to drive down to Denver to pick up your car for service? I've driven by on I-25 before and it looks like a nice place - might have to stop in. |
