In dash lcd monitor

Any one know if it is possible to fit a touchscreen 7" lcd screen on the top of the dash of an 2006 e90 without idrive. I'd like to install a computer in my car (maybe a mac mini) and have a pop touchscreen on the dash.

well, you could probably buy an iDrive dashboard and put your screen in there.
it will probably be a major pain to put in though....

i was talking along the lines of cutting a square into the top of the dash and installing a housing that an lcd screen would pop out from.

there is not enough space there for even a small screen, unless you are willing to sacrifice your central A/C vents. Plus it will look ugly.

You could either replace your headunit with something else, or relocate A/C controls and put the screen in there. There is plenty of room behind A/C controls and i know that some people moved them

I personally would try to find a double scoop dashboard and just mount a monitor there. Also, i would probably use an AppleTV, instead of Mac mini.
