M3 parts & KW camber plates, hotchkis rear brace
Just did the M3 conversion and tested it out at the track. Front wishbones, tension rods, rear sub frame bushings, front and rear sways, hotchkis rear brace. Added KW camber plates and linear springs for the KW V3. Compression/rebound and ride height have been dialed in nicely. All I can say is wow!
Car is completely different. No body roll and tons of grip. No understeer…near perfect balance. You can throw it in the corner and the car no roll whatsoever and grips like crazy. Car is on rails…no word of a lie! I have driven the M3 and prefer this set up for sure! Night and day difference! Thanks to Harold at HP and Orb for their help and parts. They took the time to explain everything. And, they were right about everything and difference in handling. Orb, you were right about the subframe bushings having to go…mine were shot. They were not designed for all the torque and g-forces of aggressive driving. I am very pleased with this set up. Highly recommended! Last edited by tomtom; 01-12-2011 at 07:27 PM.. |

parts are about $1K. you should go to someone who has done it before and has done it right...labour should be about 8-10 hours. |

Soni, if you want I can give you a spin to see the difference. You will be amazed. Its like having M3 but with more torque!
oh here is what your bushings look like after aggressive driving. |

This sounds very interesting to me... just got back from Dunnville track this past sunday... definitely looking for some suspension tunes before power increase (chip). M3 conversion parts are just the thing to over come the under steer.

Makes steering crisp and precise. Next is sways $370 + 2 hours labour. This eliminates body roll. Next is subframe bushings $220 + 4-5 hours labour. Stiffens rear end making it whole one with car. Lsd makes it complete but that is $3000. |
