if the the screen is cracked it's better to replace a new phone than repair coz the cost for the screen is pretty steep |

I have my plan through Rogers and they quoted about $600 total to replace the phone -- they told me $400 for the phone plus $200 to do a hardware upgrade (?)
I checked and the glass/digitizer costs about US$40 plus shipping to my door. So in my view, repairing should be ALOT cheaper! |

This seems ridiculous to me... but... I have to book an appointment on-line at Apple.ca with their "Genius" to tell me my phone glass is cracked and needs replacing.

There's a place in Richmond that does it for around $100 (part and labour included). It's near Garden City and Cambie. Price depends on your negotiation.
Cheapest is to buy the part on ebay and install it yourself. But you take the risk of messing up the phone at least along the edges where you open it. |
