Got the tuner manipulation code with JB 1.22
So I brought in my car today to get my annual oil change. While it was there a relative of mine who's a tech there decided to scan my car with the GT1 and clear all codes. The 2DFD code was there. Good thing he was a family member and cleared the codes for me. Looks like JB 1.22 isn't that diagnostically invisible.

good that you got your codes cleared, but if you look at the BMS disclaimer it clearly states which maps you should use for your mods and octane level in order not to induce a tuner detection code. So if you can explain more on what your mods are, what octane level do you run and the maps you've run it will start making sense.
I havent seen any person throw a tuner detection code if gone by the recommended maps selection. So if your running 91 Octane on Map 6 with just an intake im going to say that you induced the code and its no ones fault. I've been using the JB3 since it was being beta tested last year before the release and beta tested every map and not thrown a single code with it!

the code could have been something else probably even not anything to relate with engine/turbos/power. i had 2 codes on my car that I had no idea what they meant, but then found out that one of them meant non functioning seat belt arm (the seat belt arm extender once broke and was replaced but im assuming BMW never cleared the code) and the other was for a burnt rear brake lamp. cant remember the codes though
so i think that your "family member" cleared a code that was probably trying to say that there is something wrong with your car and it wasn't the tuner detection code. too bad its cleared now!

The higher the map, the most likely you are to throw a detection code. But with 1.3 BMS improved the invisibility greatly. It is just a never-ending cat and mouse game.

I was thinking the same thing when I was reading his post. The tuning code is 2d25, what is 2dfd?

You need to change the title of your thread.. It should've been:
"I just got a 2DFD, what F@#$ is it?" instead of "Got the tuner manipulation code with JB 1.22" Either you are a troll yourself or someone else will troll your subject line and just yap about how the JB3 throws code. I think you are the former.. |
