Launch in Spring 2007

BMW will launch next year in spring a mildly restyled BMW 5-Series. The photos are showing two shots of the interior including the new automatic shift lever, and a sedan and station wagon featuring new air intakes in the front skirt and a smoother rear skirt. With this facelift, BMW intends to put the 5-series in a better market position against the recently released restyled Mercedes E-Class.

At first I thought that was SMG only but looking at the pattern, that is similar to the column stalk on the e65/66...only vertical. Would you say its more ergonomic like that? Also the choice of finish might disagree with wood interior...

That joystick is

! This ugly piece of plastic cannot be the real deal.

But I like the third button on the console which says "STAU". Means "traffic jam".

Its the real deal and is also coming in the x5. Its electronic like the one in 7 series. We will also have the 528 and 535 with the facelift.

But this one is missing the leather boot. I hope they change it, I can't imagine a way to hold that thing and press the tiny "P" button.

That shifter is for the SMG not the automatic trans.

sorry. the facelift interior knob and the exterior of e6o is pure crap. the curent knob and exterior look tonnes better. bmw should sack the stupid design engineer,. why change something that is already a best seller for a poor design/facelift?
