BMW trunk soundproof

Is the BMW trunk considered to be soundproof? I am not sure how much bass is coming from a trunk subwoofer through the car.

its not. Why not play some music and get out and stand behind your car? Usually if the License plate is loosey goosey, you can hear it rattle.

I am wondering if the material between backseat and trunk is sound proof or not.

I have a secret for you. No car is considered sound proof between the trunk and car. So put a sub in. And dont be a sissy and buy some 100w sub.

I now have a 500 watt sub (250 watts per coil) run by a 400 watt 4-ohm bridged amp.

Yep, unfortunately, BMW's are quite soundproofed.
I've had a sub in the 3er trunk before and had to remove the rear deck speakers to get some bass into the cabin.

Plastic bags offer an advisable level of soundproofing in this case.

You don't need to get a 1000w sub. A 300 sub is plenty. Clear bass>Loud rattling bass.
