3 girls and a motel

So 3 ladies decide to stay at a motel for the night.
they pay10 dollars each totaling $30 and get their key
20 minutes later the owner says I overcharged you ladies and gives them 5 bucks back.
So they say oh how cute and tip the guy $ 2.
Now they split the remaining $ 3 dollars amoungst themselves equally.

Question:
So since they paid $ 9 dollars each instead of $10

3 x 9 = 27 + $ 2 (tip) what happened to the other dollar ?

Any ways here is the answer,
They paid $30
Got back - $5
So the room is $25
Paid $2 tip
Split the $3 so 25+2+3 = 30

They actually paid $9 each, $25/3 + $2/3 (the $2 tips).

$30 - $27 = $3. They split it $1 each way.

Each girl paid 10 and got 1 back, so in total they paid 9*3 = $27.

Take away the $2 for the tip = $25 which is what they paid for the room.

So, no dollar is missing.
