No-charge automatic transmission

There's currently a discount for buying a new 3-series with auto. Does anyone know if people who buy manual will get a discount of the same value?

They have had the free auto transmission promotion on since March when I ordered my car, makes me think it might be a permanent thing.

From what I heard, you do get a credit if you want a manual... but restrictions applies

I ordered a manual and it was no problem applying the $1,600 credit to the car. My car was not on the lot and is going into production next month.

What was the total discount you got though? Because if you paid MSRP minus that $1600 only.. I don't think it's a great deal. Most people get 7% discount from MSRP already, so if you got 7% discount on top of that $1600, then that makes better sense.

I feel I got ripped off... I bought my car in November of 07... picked up in Feb of 08.

I had to pay $1600 for Auto. $2600 for the red leather... 6.9% interest rate...

If I bought TODAY... Free Auto, Free red leather, and 3.9% interest rate...

All in all, I'd say I got ripped for about $10k+...!

Look at it this way: you didn't get ripped off, it's just that BMW is offering some ridiculously good deals for new orders these days. In other words, you got the car at a fair price.

+1

You didn't really get ripped off. You got to drive the car while it's still early in the model year. You got more use out of it.

The way this kind of promo works is that you have to take delivery before the promo ends, so you have to take a chance if you order the car from factory. Fortunately they have been extending the offer and it doesn't seem to end soon, as long as sale remains slow.

You didn't get ripped off; you just bought earlier and have had use of the car since then. I ordered my e92 Sept. 06 picked up my car Jan. 07 and paid the 6.9% interest rate too. I didn't even get that much of a discount.

We just gotta learn to not get sucked in by the shiny new BMW model in the first year as that is when the interest rate is highest and discounts are lowest. As much as I love my car, I'm definitely never going to buy the first model year again.

That's exactly why I skipped the 2006 model when my 320 was up for return.

No way I was taking a 5.6% increase.

+1 since the 2008 335xi was the first year they had the xi for the 335 in E92 format.

Make that 2.1%
The xi have higher rates than regular 335, I think you're right, it's 2.1% for the 335, but it's 3.9 for the xi right now.

... all in all, you're right, I got a fair price but it's still a swift kick in the nuts when you realized you could have gotten a sexier price...! I only got like $3200 off the sticker price. I read daily of people getting like $10000+ off the sticker price now on here...!

lol! I got horror stories that will keep generations from now up at night...

I bought Las Vegas Sands stock at $131 US per share... lol... and it's at like $8 now. And I bought enough that I could have purchased a CLS55 outright in cash had it not been for the loss...

Nothing tops Nortel! I got that settlement from Nortel and dumped the shares they gave me right away! Thankfully around $9 a share when I received them!

Was it a coupe or sedan? I thought the promotion was only on sedans? If it is on coupes as well I'm going to raise a stink at my dealership.
