Fitted a BMC to my M3 last Thursday - defo seems to give a bit more 'roar' on acceleration?.
Looking at some wheels and possibly Jerome's Remus Sport at the moment!! This M3 has given me the mod bug |

Got my BMC filter from Evolve - great, simple and cheap mod - gained around 6bhp on my last manual M3!!

Steve, where did you get your spacers from and I assume you had to buy longer studs as well I notice you have the plastic caps on the studs are they silver colour as I have found a company in America that does them in black any length.

Just another O/T note - i drove with my wife and baby to see some friends in Fulmer yesterday and for the first time we noticed the dreaded in car drone. I have the Remus Race fitted and to be honest there is no getting around the drone. I thought initially it was very mild but the more miles i put on the exhaust it seems to be getting louder. The reason i mention this is because i think Paul would be better off getting Jeromes Sport than looking at a Race if he wants to keep the "boss" happy!

Spacers are Eibach Hubcentric - went with 12mm and 15mm just to be safe - you will be better off running 12mm on the back just to help with clearance etc - you could run 15mm on the back too but i've done this and you need to run a lot of negative camber (-2) to ensure no issues when car is loaded etc. I ordered mine through Msytle in the end but you can get them from quite a few places - Teddy at SSDD can source them for you also. I ordered the extra long black bolts at the same time. DONT FORGET you will also need to order a new set of LOCKING wheel nuts as your old ones wont fit!!! All of this does add up but its still an awsome aesthetic mod that transforms the look/stance of the car. There is concern over extra stress on the stock suspension but i dont care as i dont keep my cars anywhere near long enough for this to be an issue. Also, im still not convinced whether this mod effects the handling in a negative or positive way??? There seems to be pro's and con's to it - but no-one else from here has done this mod like me so i cant compare thoughts - so if you do it it will be worth hearing your views. Finally, just be aware that by bringing the wheels out in the arches it will throw up a lot of crap up the sides of the car and you run the risk of stone chips etc - ive not suffered stone chips - but post car valet its a pain to get out 5 mins later and see all the tyre shine up the sides - esp on a white car!!!! I still love this mod though and would do it time and time and time again just for the awsome look!!!

not bothered about a drone in the car really as hardly drive it anyway, my Hartge pipes on the 335i did it a bit but the extra roar it gave out made it worth it , already have some spacers from the 335i ,I think they are 10mm but will have to check , when I bought the longer studs I could only find silver ones so its good that you managed to source the black ones .
I think your car looks great with the wheels out further and I am going to do the same ,I have a full Day ahead of me now fitting all of my carbon fibre bits and I will post some pics up later if I manage to fit them all Today

bit of an update on the carbon bits ,nearly fitted all of them I am dissapointed with the rear diffuser though as the quality is not fantastic it was a pig to fit due to being slightly the wrong shape I have bonded it on with masterseal but the top egde looks like it has some kind of bubbling on it almost as if it has been stressed to fit my bumper ,you can only see it when looking close but not sure how it will wear, wish I had bought it from Admaster on here now with my front splitter which is far better quality , the mirror covers are also a bloody pain as they don't cover the mirror properly so will seal with masterseal when they had dried , my grills on the side fitted perfectly as did the front grills also is this gear 100% carbon fibre as not sure it is personally.

the diffuser was from ebay ,Directparts4you co or something like that.
I read your post about the mirror covers they will be fine when i go around the egde with the masterseal, just going to mask of both sides and then seal the gap nice and neat so should work ,the front splitter is nice and fits well although I have only bonded it on so far will use the supplied screws when it sets if they are required as Masterseal is a fantastic bonding agent.

Nothing at all, the filter will just lift out and the new one will fit in the same way. It looks square but if you actually look at the filter it is more of a rombus shape. Quick & easy mod Sounds Great
