It's decision time!!

I'm gonna replace all 4 of my tires tomorrow morning.......

So, do I go 4 x runflats or 4 x non runflat??

Thinking of sticking with Potenza unless the garage recommend something better

If you want to improve the ride then non runflat will do this dramatically.

If you are looking to improve the handling, then there pros and cons either way.

Any regrets with your switch to non runflats?

Defo.

But if you stay with RFTs, then the Potenzas are the worst one in mine and many other opinions.

The Michelin PS2 are head and shoulder above the Pots in all respects - except appearance IMO.

The rear PS2 are a bit odd looking with a smooth, rounded, sort of bulbous side wall (255/35) that looks a bit, well, odd. Strangely different in side wall appearance to the front (225/40)

Don't know why...

If RFT then go Michelin PS2 - keeps the ride firm

If non RFT then take your pick, Pirelli P Zeros, Michelins, Falken FK452's, Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's, Goodyear Eagle F1's, Toyo R888's etc etc etc - may make your ride a bit wallowy on non rft as suspension set up to run stiff walled RFT's.

So just to confirm ( I know I've asked before... But) if I do go NON rft, will I get any warning lights on idrive or is it just that bit off wallowing I'll get cos I'm happy to adjust suspension to compensate.....

Sorry to keep asking the same questions but I just want to be sure before I prise my wallet open!!

No warning lights

If you want the safety of RFT, deffo go for the Michelins, they are massively better than the Bridgestones.

If you want a better ride quality, with a tiny trade off in steering/handling, go for a non-RFT - I use non-RFT PS2's and love them

I now use the NRFT PS2. I changed to Non RFT because at the time I couldn't get direct replacements for 19" rims anywhere and didn't want Pirelli RFTs.

Great tyre, comfortable ride, wearing well and good handling. I have the 335d SE with the standard Sport suspension (not Msport). I expereinced the wollowing handling at first having followed advice to reduce tyre pressures by 4psi. Once I sorted that out (following an alignment check) the wallow has gone away.

I run 39/41 psi

Decisions, decisions....

I'm quite used to the vredesteins now

The ride quality is MUCH better on uneven roads and through potholes.

They do bite well, when you really press on, but the increased bodyroll is a little disconcerting at first. Push on through that and the handling is still very good, but not really any better than with RFT's.

I don't have any regrets and am glad I gave them a go.

Not sure what I'll go for next though. Interested to see how the vreds wear.
