Incredible spy plane footage from 70,000 feet up
http://www.wimp.com/breathtakingfootage/
^ Over twice the height of Everest Almost looks like a peak even a family could climb from that altitude. I want to know what plane that is, or at least who makes it. ...just incredible really

Wow, great post. I was wondering if that was James May's voice in the first part then saw him get out of the plane - pretty cool for him. It doesn't fit the show theme, but was this on Top Gear?

Awesome stuff! I find it amazing that the Air Force is still flying the Dragon Lady (U2), while the SR-71 was retired over a decade ago. Looks like they'll still be flying into 2014 (rough estimate.)

I have to take my hat off to the Lockheed Martin engineers for pioneering this in the 1940's to be released for use in the 1950's..... I can't even imagine how ahead of the time this thing would have been given the technologies of the era this plane was designed/produced in.

I downloaded the whole episode, its called James May at the Edge of Space. It was a truly unbelievable show that puts into perspective how incredible an achievement going to the moon really was.

There's also a part called James May on the moon. Very interesting I think.

Yeah I have both. As someone who went to space camp I was riveted by both shows.

awesome find... I've always wanted to orbit the earth, probably a little higher than 70,000 ft but fuck, if I could do this I'd die a happy man.
