limp mode but not HPFP
My 2007 build 335 has been problem free for almost 2 years until 2 weeks ago when i got the infamous engine malfunction error and the engine shutter. It drove fine so I took it to dealership and they reprogrammed the car to rid of the error code. The problem return 3 days later and car was shaking very horribly so I ended up getting it towed to the dealership. After 10 days of diagnosing, they ended up replacing:
1. all 6 fuel injectors 2. 3 decoupling element 3. new dme 4. 6 ignition coil SA told me that all this would have run about $3K+ not including labor if out of warranty Has this happen to anyone? I love my car, but i definitely am thinking about getting an extended warranty after this. |

One would have to be nuts in not doing so with a 335. Too many things to go wrong and will. |

I had a very similar problem and the half engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and they switched the VANOS solenoids around. They said they've had problems with the solenoids and the fix was swap them around. It's been good for a while now.

Update: It's going in again with the engine malfunction light. I wonder what else it can be? The dealership have insisted it's not a problem with HPFP the previously. It's the third time this month that it's going in for the engine malfunction and it's getting hazardous to drive it, is it time to get BMWNA involved?

Weird, sounds like the FP to me. Maybe go to another dealer to get a diagnosis? I'm so glad I leased this thing!
