OT for sure! magmd and mava330... running a 10k? haha

Aiight folks...

It all started about a month ago while talking with magmd that we should participate in a 10k run... So a couple weeks ago on August 26th magmd and I did a 10k run at an official 5k and 10k "race". This was my first experience running in an organized race and I'm hooked! magmd had actually done a couple before me so I used his knowledge and expertise to gauge the pace and tempo for my first 10k run.

I trained for 4 weeks.... experienced a pretty sore knee while training... loaded up on Indian food the night before (note the self, NEVER do that again!

) Had performance anxiety jitters that led to unscheduled pit stops (hint: because of Indian food!

) the morning of the race and off we went!

When all was said and done we paced 9:27 minute miles throughout the whole race and Miguel beat me by 4 seconds. (00:58:45 vs. 00:58:49) Foo didn't let me know he was downshifting his gears and smoked me. By the time I realized he jetted off I had to overtake another runner while making a 90 degree turn and it was too late... the finish line was a mere 20 yards away. :mad: I'll get you next time Miguel!

All in all a great learning experience for me. Definitely something I'll be doing again. In fact I'm scheduled to run another 10k October 7th.

October 7th for sure... 10k. I got a whole crew from my office and we're placing bets.

Dood I had to take an ice bath the following day to relieve my knee pain man! Afterwards I was numb from the waist down so I felt no pain!
