Finally after a loooong break (who the F*** thought of a 4 weeks break for Formula 1??? STUPID), we're back racing!!!
After last year's boring race in Valencia, will this years's race be more exciting? The warm temperature in Southern Europe might help the tire temperature issues of Brawn cars. Race Date: 23 Aug 2009 Number of Laps: 57 Circuit Length: 5.419 km Race Distance: 308.883 km Lap Record: 1:38.708 - F Massa (2008) Timetable (local time) Fri 21 August 2009 Friday Practice 1 10:00 - 11:30 Friday Practice 2 14:00 - 15:30 Sat 22 August 2009 Saturday Practice 11:00 - 12:00 Qualifying 14:00 Sun 23 August 2009 Race 14:00 Timetable (Pacific time) Fri 21 August 2009 Friday Practice 1 01:00 - 02:30 Friday Practice 2 05:00 - 06:30 Sat 22 August 2009 Saturday Practice 02:00 - 03:00 Qualifying 05:00 Sun 23 August 2009 Race 05:00 Timetable (Eastern time) Fri 21 August 2009 Friday Practice 1 04:00 - 05:30 Friday Practice 2 08:00 - 09:30 Sat 22 August 2009 Saturday Practice 05:00 - 06:00 Qualifying 08:00 Sun 23 August 2009 Race 08:00

I'll be in Europe for this race. Too bad can't make it to Valencia though. It'll be nice to watch with some real F1 fans.

Yay, the broadcast is back on Speedvision ... errr ...SpeedTV ... Fox can lick the crap off my exhaust pipe. Their coverage was abysmal. Here's to waking up @ 5a on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Lucky for me, I am working out of my home studio this week, so I can throw the TV on and get to work. Woohoo ... can't do that @ Warner Bros.

Romain Grosjean confirmed to replace Nelson Piquet.
Romain Grosjean will take Nelson Piquet Jnr’s place in the second Renault at this weekend’s European Grand Prix. Grosjean was born in Geneva, Switzerland and holds dual French-Swiss nationality. He is currently second in the GP2 championship behind Nico Hülkenberg. He will relinquish his place at the Barwa Addax team to Davide Valsecchi.

There's a lot "new" faces in this race....Romain Grosjean replacing Nelson Piquet Jr....Luca Badoer for Felipe Massa....(well...these two are Renault and Ferrari's test drivers...not "that" new faces)....and don't forget Jaime Alguersuari replaced Sebastian Bourdais since last race....

I'm glad Renault's back in it, especially for Alonso. Sucks for the people who bought tickets just to se Schumacher to race and can't get refunds.

despite the neck problem for Schumi...they are moaning and bitching that he can't get testing on the F60....why not put Schumi in the F60 for promotion purpose (if his neck ok...) and drive less than 100km a day....then problem solved.... i guess the fucking 4 weeks break is way too fucking long for F1 community....F1 fans don't need two long breaks between races!!!

Same.
Well, why else would people (that arent fans of Alonso) buy tickets to a boring (but scenic) track?

Track changes
Valencia track officials have revealed details of the safety changes they have made to the street circuit, following consultations with the FIA and drivers: Most obvious alterations has been to the pit exit, which has been reworked to bring it to the same level as the track. As a result of this change the wall separating the two has been removed. Curbs on the apex of turns 4 and 5 have been extended, while the trackside walls at turns 3, 5, 9, 10 and 14 have been moved further from the circuit. Other minor modifications include the use of high-grip resin to seal the inner pit lane and the addition of artificial grass behind the curbs on the exits of turns 10 and 14.

First we have this long break, then we have BMW and Schumi quitting...and now we have this dull/boring track (Valencia) that has like 2 areas for passing.
Boring action (cars in a line following each other the whole race), boring scenery (I hear they are trying to spice it up this year by opening the swing bridge at night to bring in some yachts), and a boring revolving bridge (they should rotate it with the cars on it) . I feel bad for all the people that bought tickets to see Schumi (and Valencia still hasn't sold out) Anyways...I'm excited! At least Renault's ban is lifted and no more Nelsinho causing problems.
