A person completing a driving exam ran his or her vehicle into the Department of Motor Vehicles building on Castillo Street, causing significant damage to the building.

Neither the driver nor the test examiner were injured in the accident, which happened just after 9:30 Thursday morning, August 27. The vehicle jumped a curb and stopped after plowing two feet into the corner of the building on the south side. Shelving, books, files, and photos were knocked off the wall of the interior of the building. There was extensive damage to the building, but an inspection by city building officials proved the building to be intact structurally, according to a press release from City of Santa Barbara Fire Department Captain Chris Mailes.

Haha, that is awesome. I hope they get a permanent life ban from driving because of this. Thank God they did it in the test and not sometime right after the exam.

Don't the instructors usually have their own brake in the passenger side fo the car for times like that?

If it's the actual licensing test then it's done with the owner's vehicle. Instructors with driving schools would normally use the school's vehicle which would have the instructor's brakes; sometimes they have secondary steering wheels, too.

When I was in college, one of our campus bus driver ran into highrise dorm. Bus made 3 ft into the brick building, yet building didn't collapse. According to our campus new letter, he was convicted DUI. Yes, DUI on regular tuesday afternoon.

since that was the end of the test, as makred by the notice on the ground, if they wer ein a pass position prior to the crash, are they still technically awarded a pass result?
