bmw software update for my 07 335i

Hi all

i have an appointment tomorrow at bmw dallas to get a few things fixed under warranty. Do u guys know if they'll touch my ecu software? If so, what should I ask them to do if I want to avoid turbo lag?

I believe I have faulty wastegates since my car makes a rattling noise at start up (sounds like rocks in my exhaust). From what Ive heard this issue is related to turbo lag and software updates...

Also, im going to be getting the jb3 piggy back with the DCI. Does this require particular software to begin with?

Any input would be super helpful... thanks guys!

btw, im driving an 07 335i coupe... mmmmm

Have them leave the software alone. If you are getting a JB3 you can use the lagfix maps to remedy any so called lag you think your experiencing. Since you have an 07 you probably have pre 29.2, I would keep that version for as long as you can.
Does the rattling you hear during your start up go away after you car has warmed up? If so it is a normal engine warming up noise and not your wastegates.

Dont fall prey to the 335 Munchhausen syndrome.

A little rattle at start up is normal. My 07 did it and so does my 09.
