I've run several BMW's for 3 years / 90k miles and never needed a new clutch in any of them.

Used properly the lifespan should be well over 100k miles. If abused it could be 25k miles.

Had mine replaced after a mere 15k under warranty due to judder issues.

Just to confirm it hadn't been abused (at least by me - car was a demonstrator for 7.5k miles)

i was quoted around £650.00 from a dealer, although if you use a decent garage who uses original BMW components expect to pay around £450 / £500

I think its because i stop start alot on the worlds biggest car park (M25) so i do worry a bit, maybe im going over the top, i think its because i feel a slight vibration whilst my foot is resting on the clutch, not sure if this is normal?

Normal, but I would not rest my foot on the clutch.. Arguably it's not good for the clutch bearings. There is a foot rest to the left of the clutch pedal.
