i dont think anyone stocks the required materials to stroke a n54 (crank, sleeves, pistons). But with enough money, anything can be fabricated.

Still need a fuel solution before you need to worry about that since the stock block holds more power than the stock fuel system can support.

Your still gonna run up against the current limits of airflow in the scrolls - at a lower RPM even. So you will increase lowend - with what benefit?

You probably wouldn't need sleeves. Really just pistons and a crank.
Offset grinding the crank will get you a little something - providing you could find a rod that would have a smaller bigend pin.

you can always get the head port and polished, larger lift cam, and a custom intake manifold

So why not do that at first and then just work on airflow with the existing displacement?

it wont make a ton of power just opening up the head, the cam might make somewhat of a difference, but if you are pulling the head off to do all the work, might as well go for the big power and stoke the bottom end if it was available

I doubt you will see much of an increase in a few CC of increased stroke. It moves the power around - generally not UP. The tradeoff in torque increase is usually offset by a lower HP peak. Especially without MAJOR headwork.

BMW is targeting a certain market they figure if you want a faster car you would just buy an M3,M5 and M6 and not spend the time and effort to mod a n54 engine.

you can take away M3 there since is much slower than a tuned 335i.

Should have mentioned that I was thinking of a stroked engine + bigger snails. As for fueling, I'm holding out hope that AMS/CP-E will come up with a solution. Then again, there's always meth...

Probably looking at $15,000 in work considering what I've mentioned but the results would unreal

but why stroker?

i think the first step would be to buy an oem piston from tischer and send it in to one of the piston companies and see what they can do with it. Do the same for rods, change them out in the motor and then worry about bigger turbos and fuel system.

I think HPF will do all this in their Stage 4 kits. Bigger turbos, new fueling system, maybe all forged internals, port+polish, aggressive cams, and meth along with all the other bolt ons should see the 335 capable of at least 700whp in my uneducated opinion.

I wonder if the N54 open deck block would hold 700WHP.

well I love digging through old posts, this one caught my eye. Especially since we push 930hp to the stock block ^^
