New V8TT for the RS6

According to Worldcarfans Audi are currently working on replacing the 5.2v10TT in the RS6 with a smaller yet more powerful V8TT. Does this mean that Audi are up to the challenge of the next M5.

Should mean that the early suggestions that the horsepower war was over was in fact unfounded. Happy days.

The reason for the change is the environment. Speculation is that Audi will be able to provide more power, while producing less emissions, with the new V8. Despite this, Audi still chose to introduce the latest R8 Spyder with a 5.2-liter, naturally-aspirated version of the V10. This unit produces 525 hp.

It could be the new Audi RS6 that first receives the new V8. With a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V10, the current-generation Audi RS6 goes 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The engine generates 580 horsepower and up to 479 ft-lb of torque.

On the previous RS6 (C5), Audi used a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produced 331 kW (450 PS; 444 bhp). If BMW is working on a new, 550 - 600 horsepower twin-turbo V8 for the next M5, Audi could be working on something equally strong for the sake of competition.

Great. I see that these upcoming super sedans are all gonna be pushing 550+ hp. Time for me to mod my C63.

Does MB offer the same warranty that BMW offers? Also, what is the structure for the AMG vehicles?

C63s can be modded pretty easily to develop huge gains. Your car will become ridiculous.

It depends on the dealer, but some are mod-friendly with tuners like Kleemann and Renntech.

I hope so, the detuned 6.2 L engine is definitely hungry for more power.

Benz might be the one short end of the stick if Audi and Bmw are pumping 550+hp with their next midsize sedans since the new E63 only gain an additional 11hp.
