Downpipe Fix With Dinan
How do you fix the SES light when you have downpipes with Dinan? I have searched everywhere and couldn't find anything. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks. I have purchased the BMS downpipe fix but it just doesnt make sense to me.

why would you get the Dinan and get a DP? Shoulda gone with a PROcede or JB... cheaper, you obv don't need the warranty, and they have maps specifically tuned for DP's

I have the same problem. The BMS downpipe fix is not working and I still have the SES light come on. Car feels great, but really do not want to drive around with the SES light on.

I am reading about more and more people who throw codes when putting aftermarket downpipes on Dinan tuned 335s.
Has anyone with Dinan ever NOT had problems with downpipes?

You can build your own sim easily with parts from Radio Shack for $5. Shiv wrote the DIY a while back. Search for that.

Since Dinan doesn't make DPs, if you run in to problems, they wont warranty your car and neither will BMW. Kind of makes Dinan pointless.

I think I was one of (if not THE) first to post of a CEL soon after installing my catted pipes w/ a Dinan tune previously in place.
I ended up having to install an O2 simulator from BMS and then having the codes cleared. As far as the reference above to the SES light coming on ........ that's a different scenario than the CEL. The SES light comes on (normally) when maintenance is close to being OR is due. This is the case with mine as I am approaching my 30K service the SES light will come on now & then. When you first start the car you will see the "SES/vehicle on a lift" pictured within the dash cluster. The CEL means you've got a problem & the car isn't running properly. When this happens you WILL DEFINITELY know the car isn't running properly. So those who have the SES light showing ............ how many miles do you have on the car? Btw, this (CEL) has also been the case with the catted Riss Racing downpipes installed with a JB3 tuned car. Not Dinan specific ....... |

The BMS downpipe fix generally works very well, and there are numerous Dinan customers running it without issue. But it has always been intended as a companion product for the JB tuners. So no support is available for the downpipe fix with regard to the Dinan tune or any other tune. Anyone is welcome to buy one, try it out, and return it within the 14 day return window, but unless you are running a JB if it does not work for you the only alternative is to return it. No additional support will be provided.
Also as a reminder it is not legal to use the product in the USA. Mike |

It doesn't appear that anyone noticed he has a 530i, not a 335i.
