Looking for a fun car..
I have been looking for a fun car. I own a dodge truck, E90 330i and motorcycles and atv's. I looked a a Porshe cayman and Lotus elise. The elise was a blast to drive and handled excellent. Any opinions on either car or suggestions. I'm looking in the $50,000 range. Thanks ahead of time for any suggetions or thoughts.

![]() I'd go for the Elise anytime! Such a unique car, much more fun and driving experience than a Cayman IMHO. I drive an Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 (same chassis as the Eilse Mk2, diffrent body panels and slightly different suspension setup in short) from time to time and it's so much fun! My $0.02 Guillame |

the cayman is much more of a "real car" than the elise and it's just as quick on a track
like mentioned earlier, check the Z4 coupe/roadster and I'd suggest the Boxster too. |

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I don't want a 335. Why would I ever drive the 330 then!!! I plan on trading in the 330 when the new m3 comes out. The elise is a really fun car. I know it's not that practical but it sure was a blast to drive. Plus everyone and their brother doesn't have one.

What about a Corvette?? Alot of peope on this forum dont favor Domestic companies, but its the best sports car for the power and fun at a low price. Z06 is faster than a Porsche and the same as a Ferrari 430. So its just what you like.

most of the suggestions were ok, but it all depends on ur preference...
about the GTI, although its a FWD, IT IS a fun car, nice power on a small body, only that it might b kinda less fun the others but more practical (which u dont need) u said u dont like vettes, but when u buy one, u will have 2 extreams, the practical safe car (E90) and a super, raw-power car (the vette)... although its not my best between the suggestions, did u ever considr a Mini cooper S (i watched the Italian job movi 2 days ago n kinda liked it) ![]()

I would get the Cayman. It has sport and luxury and is slightly more practical. Plus it's sexy as hell. I mean the Elise is awesome too, but I would miss the luxury I am used to with the 3 series.

in that price range, there's only the elise... the z06 is quite a bit more expensive... but damn, it's tempting.

Lotus Elise, no question.
Given that you already have a truck and E90, the Elise is the perfect "fun" car for your budget. |
