check engine

Today I was entering the freeway and like usual I accelerated quickly. My car didn't feel like it usually did while accelerating. The check engine light comes on. Then it read engine malfunction. I pull over and turn my car off for ten minutes, because this usually solves any electronically malfunctions. This has happened to me three times this week. I just got my car serviced two to three weeks ago. What could be the problem?

Well.... The check engine light came on, not the check forum light. We are not wizards (not everybody at least) and cant magically tell you whats wrong with your car every time you get a limp mode of a CEL comes on.

It just slightly bothers me when people post "I turned my car on today and a CEL light came on. Whats wrong with it?"

Sorry i wasn't more specific, I know a lot of guys know there shit on this forum so i didn't think i had to get into specifics. Acceleration was super slow felt like my turbo wasn't working. I couldn't go over 50mph

limp mode, off to the wonderful dealer, they wont fix it if it doesnt throw a code though...

Well let me add my experience...I was coming up upon 34 mos.of no major troubles until 2 wks. ago when my car just shut off while driving in traffic. Started right back up, but with the DSC and yellow brake warnings. Started again and everything normal. The next day, the fob and battery symbol. Replaced the coin cell in the fob. Another two weeks and the same thing, car died while in traffic. Waiting for my appt. to see what the issue is.

I cringe when I see people say, 335i for $26k, clean history, is this a good deal? I dunno, is it, considering you're not sure if you can actually drive the car or not?
