FROM ONE BEAUTY 2 ANOTHER e46 to e92

hey just wondering for those who have test driven the e92 328i & for those who have driven e46 w/sport package. how does the two comapre. I really love my e46 because of its HEAVY STEERING, and TIGHT ACCELERATION. the way I can feel the rough acceleration and the noise it makes. Is the e92 smooth and silent more refined? or more raw. its to late for ordering the 335... and im more than happy w. the 328. but just some input please

Never too late to order a 335. Im sure your dealer would be only too glad to take extra money off you and offload the 328 onto someone else.

The E9x is magnificent at least in 6 cylinder form.

Test it out and see how much has changed from the e46 to the e9x.

Go for the 335 if your finances can take it.

All the best

I have a 03 330Ci with spt pkg and didnt plan to order a 335 till the awd version came out. Test drove a 335i two weeks and made it about 10 days before I ended up ordering one.

In mind there is no point in comparing a 330 to the 335 they are just in two completely different classes.

I have a 04 S4 quatro and 04 M3 in my garage (roommates cars) and I take them out often. The M3 is a much better performing car then the S4 but the S4 feels a lot more luxurious. I would put the 335 somewhere in between the two cars in terms of performance and luxury feel.

I've got the E46 coupe. It's a very nice car to drive, but generally the new E92 drives again a little bit better then the outgoing E46 coupe. The power-steering from the E92 is a bit heavier, you first think the power-steering isn't working. You get used to it very quickly. The version without the sport-suspension makes the E92 drive more comfortable then the E46-coupe. With the sport-suspension the car becomes pin-sharp through corners. I'm although not a fan of the Active Front Steering.

Will order mine in about half a year from now (Monaco Blue, 19" style 230, sport-suspension, Black Dakota, brushed aluminium interiortrim)
