Windows 7 is out!
Windows 7 is now live.
If your looking to buy it, and don't mind waiting a few days you can get OEM copies for significantly less money on www.newegg.com Also, for students with Vista. You can get a Windows 7 upgrade for $30 by following this link and entering in your .edu e-mail address. http://windows7.digitalriver.com/sto...=1256221087418

Had it running for a couple of days now and love it - so many tweaks and additions. Had to install fresh tho' as went from 32bit vista to 64bit Win7.

Everything I've heard about it suggests it is what Vista should of been. So I'm not sure the term disguised vista is accurate.

I'm sure if you developed software, you wouldn't want people running beta copies when you go live.

I've been running it since the beginning of August (and beta before that) and it's been great. Much less of a resource hog than Vista was and a lot less buggy. Especially when you consider this is the initial release and Vista has had 2 service packs already. Do be careful about AVG Free 9. I installed it on my box this weekend and it was maxing out my memory. Apparently there's a leak that AVG hasn't addressed. Don't know if the same problem goes for XP and Vista users. |
