Feel my pain...

or atleast my wallet's...

Denmark, the little country where you buy 3 cars and get 1...

We have a 180% tax on cars, not to mention a 25% sales tax.

A E92 335i is 797.000 DKR = 135.125$ and the dollar is even low vs the danish krone at the moment. Its SICK!

The E92 325i i am ordering with almost no options is 110.000$ metalic paint is
an 2.900$ option *cry*

Hurts my eyes to read all about your nice 335i's with every option avaliable but i am please someone gets to enjoy BMW to its fullest potential.

Oh well its still a gooooooood car and i will enjoy it alot i hope!

EDIT: oh yeah and our income tax is close to 60%, but hey we have one of the best welfare systems, free education, healthcare, social security and benefits for all...

I'm sorry to hear that the tax is 180% on cars, but like you say, your country's social programs are very good.

You can import a car from Germany, but you still have to pay the tax.. I think the cars are even cheaper in Denmark without tax , because the taxes are so high.

In the Netherlands some independent dealers import german luxury cars, then strip down all the options and go with the stripped down car to the agency that has to check the car and give the licenseplate etc. They depict how much tax you'll have to pay over the car and without all the options you'll save up thousands of euro's...

But over here the cars are also very expensive (45% tax).. Social system isn't as good as in Denmark, but better than the States..

But enjoy your great car!!

Expensive Social programs are good for those who don't work.Because they don't have to pay for them and get to use them.I think 180% tax on cars and a 60% tax on income,is insane.Don't get me wrong.I have no problem with taxes.I would even pay a little more(if are govnt wouldn't waste it.)I just think that 180% tax and 60% income tax,is like stealing. This is of course is my personal opinion.

If I lump my student loan & healthcare payments in with my car payments, I'm probably paying close to the same. Plus our social programs are aweful.

They money they are giving out is only a small fraction of what they collect. So no, he should be complaining....
