Shark Fin Antenna and 335

Guys, this may be a silly question but is the shark fin antenna standard on all 335s? I ordered my car without sirius radio and I heard the shark fin antenna is comes only on cars equipped with sirius radio. Is this true?

It's standard on the e90 W/ or W/O satellite so I would assume it's standard on the e92.

I belive it also acts as the cars Aerial for the radio. So therefore it should be a standard piece of equipment.

The fin also helps when cornering underwater.

Even if you order the car with out Sat. Radio.... All 2007 will have the Sat.Prep in the car.... so even though you might not order the fin....The fin lives on...... Remeber BMW has done away with the antenena in the window so that fin houses the Nav sat.radio, assist, and Am / FM ant. its STANDARD on all cars....

This isn't good news... I hate the way that the shark fin looks. I was hoping that without nav it would just be there for looks and I could take it off. Oh well.

Did you remember to select "underwater mode" from your iDrive menu? It's just after the settings for hover mode. Try that and see if you stall out again, if you do, I'd contact your dealer.

I was actually a little aprehensive about the fin as well when I ordered my 330i, but it's really grown on me. I also find that I don't even notice anymore, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

On the bright side, you and your fin may be mistaken for the 2007 Infiniti G...sweet! (j/k, of course)

I find it very useful to help you spot your car in a crowded car park!

I actually LOVE the look of the shark fin antenna. Other car companies are following suit - yup and you guessed it right- Lexus has similar antenna on all their 07 model year cars
