Just for clarification, these are just parts costs, no labor/installation included correct?

Correct. No labor or other required parts (bolts, gaskets, etc.).

I'm no expert. If you are interested in a particular part, I recommend you go to the web site and look it up yourself to be sure.

I think it's good to know what parts cost, especially if you didn't lease the car and plan to keep it past warranty.

Tischer lists one turbo at $1,577.08, with a $100 core charge.

In the unlikely event that my engine explodes at 4 years and 1 day or 50,001 miles, I think I'd just buy a used motor from a wreck. The rest of the car would be used at that point, too.

They are way high.

There is a project thread by klipseracer where he's rebuilding a LCI 335 and he's been able to get parts for significantly less than the RealOEM prices.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297907

I don't really understand what the purpose of listing the prices from Real OEM is. People who need to buy these things already know where to look.

Most readers don't know what parts cost, especially the big ticket items. It's a good thing to know.

The list is not meant to show best prices. It's meant to show APPROXIMATE costs and RELATIVE costs that people can easily verify for themselves. For example, the cost of 328 and 335 parts are very similar for most parts.

If realoem is high, people can take that into consideration.
