Thumbs up McKinney catch can installed

I've finally had it with the RR oil catch can.. It leaked after I purchased it, I sealed and thread taped every single connection, and the oil worked it's way through and leaked again. Just poor connections & fitment imo.

I purchased the McKinney catch can after several positive reviews. The catch can was well packaged and arrived very quickly. I was VERY impressed with the quality of the product. McKinney used name brand fittings (Swagelok) and every connection was super tight.

Here are a couple pictures of the install. I used the old connection pieces from the RR catch can and purchased longer hoses to run to the front of the engine bay. I mounted the can in the front so that it provides easy access for oil disposal.

I clamped onto the radiator hose and let the bottom of the can rest on a couple cables beneath.

My only question... Would there be any issues with how long my tubing is? About 4 feet each length.

Thanks guys!

Looks sweet... I don't think there should be a prob with those tubes that long... as long as there isn't any pooling of oil in the tubes...

what CAI are you running there?

Nice install job! How exactly did you mount it?

I used 2 worm clamps and interlinked them like a figure 8. I put one clamp over the factory radiator hose clamp (see on the last picture) and slipped the other clamp through it (it sits like a cup holder almost). I'm no engineer so it's hard to explain. Very simple and is a snug fit. It doesn't feel like there is any pressure/pulling on the radiator hose either as the can is slightly resting on cables beneath it.

I would definitely keep an eye on RSD's and also AR's - both should be good!

How much did you buy your McKinney for?

Will the dealership give us crap for having a oil catch can installed?
