what beer do ///m owners drink?

I figure this could not be any less relevant than the watch thread, right?

Here's what I have in my fridge tonight:

Madrugada Obscura by Jolly Pumpkin:
http://www.jollypumpkin.com/beers.htm

I also have Jolly Pumpkin's pumpkin ale which isn't listed on their site:
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/jolly-p...kin-ale/94686/

And finally the ever present Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA:
http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits...minute-ipa.htm

Post your beer choices. If you're like "WTF is this sh*t?" then congrats - you feel exactly as confused as I am when reading the watch thread. Don't get wrong, watches are cool, I just never achieved that Sylar level obsession with timepieces. I'd rather spend the cash on beer.

Next thread - what Lego sets do ///m owners build? Oh yes, I do have a large supply.

Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Guiness (not as good as on tap, but great for drinking and for making spaghetti sauce--not as acidic as wine; nice flavors...logging off now, hungry)
Anchor Steam Christmas Ale
New Belgium 1554
Mad River Steelhead Extra Stout

Yeah, it's winter so I'm in the "heavy" stuff.

Sold my legos...but I have about 100 vintage 1960s Hot Wheels. Maybe we should start a thread on that too.

Good thread...

So I've gone through the typical beer phases... college crap beers > imports > then hard into belgians > US micros > now IPAs. Living in Chicago is a beer lover's dream since we have one the best bars in the US ... Hopleaf.

The belgian beers in my mind are the best in the world. They are as complex as wine and sometimes as potent.

Even amongst the beglians Westvleteren stands alone, and it is simply the best beer in the world IMHO. Too bad you can't order it from anywhere and can only get it from the monestary. In fact, one has to make an appointment in advance and are then only allowed to buy one case per month. Had a friend sneak it over where we tried three bottles.

My favorite midwest brewery is Bells ... Bells Oberon, a wheat ale very much a kin to a belgian white but with much more body and flavor, is the beer which represents Chicago summer. They also make one of America's best IPAs ... Bell's Two Hearted Ale.

Other beers all M owners should try:

Delerium Tremens
St Bernardus Apt 12 (on tap)
Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewery
Most everything from Dogfish but in particular Midas Touch

PS and if you were talking watches my grail watch is a 40MM FP Journe CS.

Dolby, try this. You'll flip out at how good these three go together.

IMHO, this stuff absolutely blows Chimay into the weeds. And don't get me wrong - I love me some Cinq Cents.

You need to try Third Coast Olde Ale. Still the best barleywine I have had, although I can't usually remember drinking it - the stuff will knock you on your ass.

Also, Bell's Hopslam is simply the best Imperial IPA ever brewed. Do drink some, you won't regret it.
