Anyone heard of this type of service?

I posted my E39 on the trader a few days agao and this guy calls me and says:

His company can sell my car for the full asking price. All I need to do is pay 200$ up front for admin fee. If they don't sell it in 90 days I'll get my 200 back.

Basically they are a finance company. They will sell your car at a discount and make money off the high interest. But you get your full asking price upfront.

Seems kinda of shady

I had many similar calls when I tried to sell my 330i a couple years ago. My first thought was they are full of $hit, just trying to make money off of you.

This sounds like your car will be sold on consignment. Many used car lots or auto brokers will offer this service to keep their inventory costs low (in this case, nothing). As long as company is reputable, I see no problems with it.

Try CARCASH instead, they allways beat a dealer's trade in offer.

True, but they still offer lowball prices for your car.
