Loss of power if 5th/6th gear
I've been noticing that I have a loss of power when I'm in 5th or 6th gear lately... car takes off just fine and accelerates without issues from a standstill... but as I get higher in the gears, it seems to rev to say 3500... then drop to 3000... and then slowly move from there...
no strange noise or smells either... any ideas?

TS Loss of Power? Kind of broad? REv to 3500 then drop 3000? While on the gas? Slipping clutch? |

Something's not adding up. When a clutch starts to slip, the engine RPM's go up, not down. An easy test is to stomp on the gas in a high gear and see if the tach shows an increase in RPM even though the road speed stays unchanged. Let us know what the mechanic uncovers, please. Regards, Adnan |

Any warning lights on dash?
I would have to agree, that if it's slipping clutch then the RPM would shoot up, not gradually drop down. |

You can have a slipping clutch and have the RPM go up then back down.
All it means is the clutch slipped then it caught and dropped back down. |

2nd, that is all that is happening. Clutch will take longer and longer to grab as it wears out and eventually wont grab at all.
