GP Update Fantasy F1
Just wanted to gauge interest on anybody that does or is interested in doing the GPUpdate Formula 1 fantasy for the 2010 season? Maybe an e90 post subdivision.
I've managed a subdivision of past coworkers in the number of 20 (give or take) for the 08' and 09' F1 season. If anyone thinks they might be interested, chime in...... or click here to learn about it! http://www.gpupdatemanager.net/en/rules.php We cannot officially build the group until the beginning of february though

individually against each other. The sub league just groups you with your friends on the game, but your points count in both the sub league and the world wide scoreboard.

It's only 5 euro, which works out to roughly $7 us. Take a look at the prizes before you turn yourself away.... Granite that is out of the entire world, but in the 09 season I was as high as 15th overall!

Let's talk strategy here.. even though the driver earns almost double the points as the chassis/engine... You score points for both cars running your chassis/engine, right??
If so, then chassis/engine are more important for scoring points than driver... I am waiting on selecting my drivers/chassis/engine until we get closer to the first race and we see more testing |

Come on you guys... The more people we have in our E90 sub league, the more fun it will be... Again it's only 5 Euro... $7
And if anyone wants to make it more interesting... how about a side pool maybe we put up $10 each and winner takes all at the end of the season... honor system would apply as far as collecting at the end... |

absolutely, i'm in!
as far as points go, you're right in that it is more of a safe (blue chip) investment to buy a good chassis or engine as you aren't putting all your eggs in one basket (one driver/car), however sometimes the risky prevail. even if you have ferrari for example, and massa and alonso qualify and finish 1,2..... it's still more profitable to have the driver who finished 1st. but it's alot harder to get that right frequently.

A couple of things to consider ... (I am really into this now, trying to figure out the best combination to have... don't want to give away too much !! hehee)
1. The starting money they give you is spot on... forces you to make tough choices, you cannot afford a top driver even if you pick the cheapest second driver/chassis/engine... 2. The choices really are a) Top engine, bottom drivers and chassis (same as Top chassis, bottom drivers and engine) b) Middle (lower middle really) of the road everything 3. Drivers values go up very quickly with good results compared to engine/chassis values... A winning driver is going to be very hard to afford at any point during the season Question... when you sell any component during the season, it says you will get 90% is that 90% of what you paid or 90% of what the current value is? |

you get 90% of current value, just like the stock market. So for instance, i bought Jenson Button on day 1 last season as drivers weren't valued on their testing performance (and i knew the brawn was legit), so by race 7 he went from 21,000,000 up 9,000,000 x 7 which was 84,000,000 total. Had i went to sell him, i would've gotten 75,600,000 cash back from the sale.
