Do You Drink? (21 and Older Members)

I stopped drinking last month and plan to continue doing so indefinitely. My reason was so that I can concentrate on working out and getting healthier. Plus, it saves me alot of money. (That's not to say that I wasn't a drinker before. I used to live in Germany for 2 years and they had the best beer in the world bar none. The fests were incredible, but that's a different subject.)

Anyways, if you are of legal age and don't drink, please post your reason why.

I'm 20 and started drinking since when I was 17.

My country let people drink if their over 19.

I just drink a lot in summer and winter break and

stop drinking when school start.

It helps me to concentrate better on everything and

specially for exercising (I do weight lifting, kick boxing, and judo).

What I heard from many many people from my weight lifting club is

actually little amount of alcohols are not really affect you to build muscle,

but too much alcohols are affecting your muscle build. Alcohols are melting

your muscle down and it’s hard to bring it back to the previous or normal

shape.

In Australia the legal age for drinking is 18:rocks: So i had started early compared to others around the world. I usually drink a glass of wine or Jack Daniels every day.

I find it relaxing drinking after a long day at work.

Overhere it's 16 and 18 for liquor and stuff.

I'm a beerguy but my GF prefers red wine and sometimes beer too at soccermatches etc.

I'm a social drinker. However, because of the long work hours I rarely get to go out and socialize. My girlfriend and I will order some wine at dinner sometimes, but other than that I, like the rest of the crew above, tend to not drink to maximize my workouts. I prefer water.

I don't drink. I've never been able to get past the flavor of alcohol. I just hate it. Expensive wines, nice vodkas, etc...doesn't matter. It all tastes like rubbing alcohol to me.

word... alcohol does affect muscle build... haha i drink a little... i never go overboard

i basically stopped drinking when i turned 16 and got my license. Im usually the drive, and i DEFINITLY dont want a DUI. i have probably drank about 4 beers total in the last 7 years since i got my license. im happy about that. drunk people are sooo stupid. why would you want to throw up all over yourself?

I'm in my thirties & that is the decade when you accept that your college days are long gone! I definitely drink less than I did back then b/c the recovery time is longer! Also, hard to clean my Jet Black car in this Florida sun, so you have to get up early!

Nope, I don't drink alcohol. I'm another one that never could deal with the taste. Not to mention, I don't like the idea of not having complete control of myself. I have probably had 5-10 alcoholic drinks since I turned 21.

I don't even drink coffee (can't stand the taste of that either). I tried to force myself to start drinking coffee in college (it didn't work). My last cup of coffee was in 1992.
