Question about exhaust tips

How much of the stock exhaust will be cut off during the installation? I have a pretty significant dent about 5 or 6 inches in on my right pipe causing it to sag about 2 inches from where it should be. Im just wondering if installing a new tip will be an effective fix. Sorry I dont have any pictures of this since im away at school without my car.

It depends on the tip, with the DiMisa tips you can adjust how much to cut off and replace depending on how far you want the new tips to stick out.
