That Lexus is damn ugly. The 5 series is much nicer.

sorry, to me they are two completely different cars. just because the tails are stretched to the sides doesn't make it look like the 5er. as far as overall body style, many cars in that class look alike so i wouldn't focus on one particular pair.

Lexus and Acura both seems to follow BMW styling cues. Thats why BMWs rule & deep down inside a Lexus owner is still jealous of a bimmer!

I actually really like the L-finesse thing Lexus is doing, and while it does have some "Bangle-y" queues, I find it to be generally pretty original.

I must admit lexus has stepped up the game...but all this talk about comparing BMW and Lexus is just what lexus wanted in the first place. They have smart people working there ya know. I will admit, certain Lexus cars are very BMWish. The new GS is extremely bmwish. The LS is too. I find it really fun how when the new IS first came out i loved it, but now i think it is gross and looks like a scion. The opposite happened with the e90. I hated it at first, now I love it. I love the e92 the most though. BMW definately copied lexus with those new tailights on the coupe, but they made em better. Its all about improving on what other people have already made. Thats the name of the game.
P.S. I really didnt like the new LS. Its huge and bulky, and I don't see the so called L-finesse that I see in the other lexus |

I shudder each time I see a IS for some reason....
The LS is nice care don;t get me wrong but that back end almost reminds me of a 5 series and maybe in some ways a 7 too.

The IS reminds me of a person that is sitting in a car that looks to be normal size, then they open the door and get out and all you see is this big bulky ass.

Yeah, it's obvious that Lexus designers used some BMW styling cues. Anyone who cannot see that is in denial. C- for originality.
However, I love the new LS. It's probably one of the nicest and most reliable luxury cars on the market. |

No it doesn't look like the 5-series.
Cars all have similar elements. The LS is a nice luxury car. No The LS is not a camry. Cars take years to design, they don't magically appear after copying someone. The car parallel parks itself for Christs sake. |

In Europe everyone has to know to parallel park, same for Asia. In the US (NA) not much need for that except in some large cities where people (by now) should have learned to do it. On the other side, the LS should be great car and competing with the 7 series not 5. Between the LS and 7er -- I'd go Japanese... |
