HPFP bmw settlement

Would you take a settlement of $4000.00 from BMW due to the HPFP failing? Thats what they are offering me since its failed 3 times, its enough for an extended warranty. Would you take it? Has anyone else been offered this and how much?

Do you qualify for a lemon law in your state? If so, I'd see about making them take it back if it's been repaired three times...maybe they'd up the ante a bit...maybe an M-Aero kit thrown in? Just a thought.

I dunno... I often hear about people's HPFP continuing to fail once they've had a failure. I think I'd want them to buy her back. Then I'd pick up a new car.

yea, everything would still be covered, they're giving me 4000 to cover the cost of an extended warranty. I love the car and would hate to give it up considering i wouldnt get the full 53k that i paid for the car so i would have to ante up quite a bit more to have another new 335. Sure i could take the $ and go buy a G37, but its not a BMW.

I think what many don't get who responded is that the OP loses, got a bad car. BMW isn't going to reverse that. What they are going to do is lessen the blow. It's not a game like get some more accessories put on a bad car, or try to get more money.

Unless there is documentation that there is some game theory behind it and you can squeeze Munich for more $$$, I'd take the money and get a different car, probably Japanese. The worst is to take the $$$, get another 335 and lose again. Cut the losses imho.....

you cant polish a turd... but then again they did on mythbusters but the turd wasnt a 335i with a constantly failing HPFP.

I would see if you can get more money. Once you have as much as you think you can get, take the money, and then sell the car.

Lemon that shit or get it bought back. The $4K isn't worth your time, hassle and frustration. F_ BMW's "10 year warranty" instead of an ENGINEERED DESIGN FIX and PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL.

If you can live with more HPFP failures, take the deal if it's good for 100K miles and keep the car until the extended warranty is almost over.

If you were having lots of other problems, I'd say get rid of the car, but since bad HPFP's can show up on any N54 and you love the car, why not hang on to it?

They would do a trade assist- a like item exchange, no need for more money out of pocket and you get a new car. Then you will sign a NDA....

it happens, trust me.

The value of the car might crater so the 4k is to give you some relief.

I would get them to buy it back or negotiate somting that can put you in a n55 motor car with little penalty to trade. Of course, thats what the 4k is for.
