Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #21: SYMMETRY

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 800px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 800px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on bimmperpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

THEME:

SYMMETRY
Seems pretty self-explanatory. A photograph which records some form of symmetry, whether natural, architectural, artist-created, etc.

Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Monday, February 22nd at MIDNIGHT EST.

ya know, I might get for this but I really don't SEE the symmetry in any of these photos other than Rodi's. Even if the building or whatever is that same size/shape as the other one, should the photo actually reflect that symmetry (sorry no pun intended) instead of just taking your word for it?

by these standards I could enter a photo of my car and just say "the wheels are the same size...

^ I think most of them are lines. I can see symmetrical lines in virtually all of those pix.

Andrew- please put a title on your picture. This is not meant toward you alone but this is our 2nd year (yes it's been about 2 years!!!) and people are still not following the damn rules! It's frustrating to see people posting pix that are larger than 800x800 or no titles. *sigh*

when I think of symmetry I think of 2 copies of each other that can be split in half down the middle, vertically, horizontally or diagonally and if you folded it over, they'd be at least ALMOST identical.

Again, I only really see that in Rodi's pic. The other photos have good BALANCE, but I don't really see symmetry.

And Layze you can always resubmit photos as long as the submission period hasn't ended. Just delete your old photo though if you do.

Hence my quibble about loosely defined contests. If you want something specific you have to ask for it. For good or ill when you name your contest after a concept you will get everyone's interpretation of that concept - which can be damn near anything.

I still think symmetry is pretty specific, people just might not really understand what it means.
